Server Maintenance

We offer proactive online server maintenance in addition to our Online Support plans to prevent no unexpected downtime to your server infrastructure and school ICT suites. This service ensures your Server is running to optimal performance and all services remain operational for your school.

Online Server Maintenance provides you with a preventative server check and availability between 9am to 6pm during Monday through to Friday excluding standard bank holidays. Our IT Experts will assist in diagnosing server problems as they occur and attempt to rectify them prior to serious problems occurring with the IT system.

If the server maintenance check cannot solve a problem then an IT Expert will request your permission to either resolve the issue by online support or an onsite visit as they deem to be appropriate. All online and onsite time is chargeable as per your Online Support agreement.


Problem Escalation and Resolution Guidelines

Critical technical issues, identified with the server only, attracts a response within 4x working hours limited to normal work hours (9am to 6pm Monday to Friday). This response will in the first instance be a telephone call to determine the nature of the problem followed by either online or onsite visits.

Any online support or onsite visits will require approval by the above named individual(s) for the sake of expediency. For non critical technical issues with the server or any other elements associated with the IT network infrastructure a best endeavours response will apply, typically one of our IT Experts will respond within eight working hours or better.


Problem Severity Definitions

(Level 1) – Critical
Complete malfunction or failure, specific to the server, significantly impacting the operation of the network and its users.

(Level 2) – Non Critical
Malfunction, failure or error which impacts business operation, where a workaround is available and/or does not significantly impact the network or its users.

Note: Our IT Experts have the authority to immediately assess the level of a technical issue and to act accordingly.

Note: A critical response does not include a guaranteed repair time and it is the aim of OPCS to deliver reasonable commercial efforts during normal hours of operation to satisfactorily resolve each incident within the terms of the agreement.

  • Disk space
  • Running Processes
  • Eventlogs
  • Anti-Virus
  • All services running
  • Windows updates
  • Printer Queues
  • Test backup and restore
  • Test UPS protection
  • Reboot the server

Payments for Online Server Maintenance is charged in advance by monthly invoice. Schools are required to make payment within 7 days from invoice by cheque, BACS, or online using a debit or credit card via our secure payment processor.
